MINSK DISTRICT, 5 March (BelTA) – Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko attended the ceremony to award the medal winners of the Snow Sniper junior biathlon competitions for the prizes of the President's Sports Club on 4 March, BelTA informs.
The awards were also presented by Olympic champions, members of the Belarusian national biathlon team Darya Domracheva, Irina Krivko and Dinara Alimbekova.
More than 39,000 school students took part in the Snow Sniper competitions. The finals took place at the Raubichi National Olympic Center. A total of 168 young athletes took part in the finals.
According to the President's Sports Club, the finals have been held in a new format since 2017. They are now very similar to the professional biathlon competitions. The club has purchased over 150 biathlon shooting targets and nearly 100 small-bore rifles to distribute them among the regions for training.
