MOSCOW, 14 March (BelTA) – The Union State MPs will take part in the observation of the presidential elections in Russia, BelTA learned from the press service of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Union State of Belarus and Russia.
“On 18 March the Parliamentary Assembly will join the CIS observation mission to monitor the presidential elections in Russia. The delegation of the Parliamentary Assembly will visit polling stations in a number of Russian regions: Moscow, Saint Petersburg, Kaliningrad Oblast, Rostov Oblast, Tatarstan, the Chechen Republic, Krasnodar Krai. The MPs are expected to hold talks with representatives of the regional election commissions and heads of the legislative and executive bodies of the authorities of the Russian regions,” the press service said.
The delegation of the Union State MPs will be led by Chairman of the Parliamentary Assembly, Chairman of the House of Representatives' Standing Commission for International Affairs Valery Voronetsky.
“The Union State MPs have a vats experience in working as international observers. The Parliamentary Assembly MPs took part in the observation of the elections in Azerbaijan, Armenia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Ukraine,” the press service said.
