Samoseiko: Visit of Mexican parliamentary delegation to Belarus will bolster bilateral ties

MINSK, 11 May (BelTA) – A visit of the parliamentary delegation of Mexico to Belarus will help advance the bilateral relations, Chairman of the permanent commission for international affairs of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus Nikolai Samoseiko said as he met with Magdalena del Socorro Nunez Monreal, a member of the Chamber of Deputies of the General Congress of the United Mexican States, the Chairperson of the Group of Friendship Mexico-Belarus, BelTA has learned.

Nikolai Samoseiko stated that the diplomatic relations between the Republic of Belarus and the United Mexican States were established in 1992, but so far there have been no visits at the high and highest level. According to him, the two countries have maintained interstate contacts mainly within the framework of international organizations, and the current visit to Belarus is the first one for Mexican parliamentarians. "I think that our meeting today will help not only establish further contacts between the parliaments but also bolster trade and economic ties," he said.

Nikolai Samoseiko also said that the Mexican guests came to Belarus during the Great Victory celebrations and expressed hope that they will have the most favorable impressions of the host country.
