MOSCOW, 21 December (BelTA) – Nikolai Bordyuzha's term in office as CSTO Secretary General has been extended until 1 January 2017. The presidents of the CSTO member states made the decision at the session of the CSTO Collective Security Council in Moscow on 21 December. The decision was announced by Armenia President Serzh Sargsyan after the session, BelTA has learned.
“A number of appointments have been made. We elected the Secretary General and took a decision on the rotation of officials in the permanent working bodies of the CSTO,” Serzh Sargsyan noted. He added that the decision to extend Nikolai Bordyuzha's term in office was made unanimously.
“The CSTO Foreign Ministers Council and the CSTO Defense Ministers Council have been tasked with preparing, in cooperation with the Secretary General, and presenting suggestions on how to distribute the quota posts in the CSTO Secretariat and in the CSTO Joint Headquarters,” Serzh Sargsyan said.
