Lithuania fans Belarusian nuclear power plant ‘fire' for political gain

MINSK, 27 April (BelTA) – The Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has made a few comments in response to the note the Lithuanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs had served to the Belarusian ambassador, BelTA has learned.

“Yes, we have received the note from the Lithuanian side. We will forward the petition of the Lithuanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs to the competent Belarusian authorities and will prepare an official response in a timely manner,” said Dmitry Mironchik, Head of the Information and Digital Diplomacy Office, Press Secretary of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

“The Belarusian Emergencies Ministry and the Energy Ministry have already made an exhaustive comment about the situation. This is why it is obvious that reports about some ‘fire' and accompanying speculations have been kept in store in anticipation of the anniversary of the Chernobyl catastrophe and are now being used for political gain and blatant propaganda,” said the spokesman.
