MINSK, 25 August (BelTA) – Lebanon is interested in developing all-round cooperation with Belarus, Lebanon's Prime Minister Tammam Saeb Salam said as he received Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Syria with concurrent accreditation to Lebanon Alexander Ponomarev, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The parties discussed the current state and prospects of the development of the bilateral political, trade, economic, and investment cooperation. They also stressed that Belarus and Lebanon have great potential for establishing cooperation ties in science, education, culture, and sports.
Alexander Ponomarev paid a working visit to Beirut, the capital of the Lebanese Republic, where he met with Beirut Governor Ziad Chebib, Beirut Mayor Bilal Hamad, and Lebanese businessmen.
The participants of the meetings discussed the development of interregional ties. The Lebanese side expressed intention to visit Belarus.
