Egypt's president plans to visit Belarus

MINSK, 28 August (BelTA) - Egypt's President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi plans to visit Belarus. The dates for the visit are being agreed upon through diplomatic channels, Egypt's Minister of Foreign Affairs Sameh Shoukry told the media after the talks with Belarusian counterpart Vladimir Makei in Minsk on 28 August, BelTA has learned.

“The president of Egypt plans to visit Minsk in the near future. We are now negotiating the dates through diplomatic channels,” Sameh Shoukry said.

During the talks the heads of the foreign ministries paid special attention to this subject. During the visit of the Egypt's president the parties are expected to sign a roadmap to promote cooperation between the two states in the coming years.

“Frequency of visits at the level of ministries and experts that we have seen over the past few months between Cairo and Minsk is a clear demonstration of our commitment to develop cooperation,” Sameh Shoukry noted. He expressed confidence that the official visit of the Egypt's president will have a positive impact on the development of cooperation between the two states.
