MINSK, 9 February (BelTA) – The fourth battery of air defense missile systems S-300 will arrive in Belarus in March 2016, BelTA learned from Major-General Oleg Dvigalev, Commander of the Air Force and Air Defense of the Belarusian army, on 9 February.
“The work Russia has done to hand over four S-300 batteries to us for free allows me to state with confidence that in the next ten years the air defense missile force that we have now will be sufficient,” said Oleg Dvigalev.
Two out of four batteries have already been delivered from Khabarovsk to Polotsk. They are being deployed at their stations. “We are now receiving the third one in Borisov. We are expecting the next one from Noginsk in March. The air defense missile force will get a total of four batteries that have gone through a major overhaul with the warranty period of five to seven years. There are good prospects,” noted the Major-General.
