Belarus, Sudan in favor of closer bilateral relations

MINSK, 7 September (BelTA) - Belarus' Minister of Foreign Affairs Vladimir Makei received the copies of credentials from Sudanese Ambassador to Belarus Nural-Dayem Hamad Al-Neil, BelTA learned from the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The two parties expressed satisfaction at the level of political dialogue and agreed to maintain the current positive momentum of political contacts, primarily at the highest level. The parties noted the need for more dynamic interaction in other areas, including trade and joint projects in the industrial and agricultural sectors.

An agreement was reached to maintain regular contacts between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belarus and the Sudanese Embassy in order to address urgent issues of bilateral cooperation, taking into account the agreements reached at the highest level.

Vladimir Makei congratulated the Sudanese ambassador on the beginning of the diplomatic mission in Belarus and expressed hope for his active work in order to further expand the friendly and constructive relations between Minsk and Khartoum.

The parties also exchanged views on the status and prospects of Belarusian-Sudanese cooperation in several areas.
