MINSK, 31 May (BelTA) – The prospects of Belarus-Spain trade and economic cooperation were discussed at a meeting between Belarus' Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Oleg Kravchenko and Director General for International Trade and Investments of the Spanish Ministry of Economy, Industry and Competitiveness Jose Lius Kaiser, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Oleg Kravchenko's visit to Madrid is underway on 30-31 May. At the meeting, the deputy minister and the director general for International Trade and Investments of the Spanish Ministry of Economy, Industry and Competitiveness discussed the current state and prospects for building up trade and economic cooperation between Belarus and Spain. The parties compared notes on the progress made in the implementation of the agreements at the first meeting of the joint Belarusian-Spanish intergovernmental commission on economic and industrial cooperation in Minsk in October 2017. The parties also shared opinions on the most important issues of the Belarusian-Spanish cooperation.
Oleg Kravchenko met with Director of the Center for Political and Constitutional Studies Benigno Pendas Garcia to discuss the development of the Belarusian-Spanish and Belarusian-European relations, international policy issues, including global and regional security.
The deputy minister also met with Chairperson of the Foreign Affairs Committee at the Congress of Deputies of Spain Pilar Rojo Noguera to talk over the Belarusian-Spanish cooperation, including inter-parliamentary relations.
On 31 May, Oleg Kravchenko is set to take part in the Belarusian-Spanish ministerial consultations and an official opening ceremony for the office of the Belarusian embassy in Spain.
