Moscow Oblast industrial companies eager to advance cooperation with Belarus

VITEBSK, 17 May (BelTA) – Moscow Oblast industrial companies are interested in advancing manufacturing cooperation with Belarusian partners in the area of mechanical engineering and dairy industry, BelTA learned from Vladimir Kozyrev, Director General of the Moscow Oblast Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs (the regional association of employers). Vladimir Kozyrev took part in the seventh international economic forum in Vitebsk on 17 May.

The interest of Moscow Oblast companies in cooperation in the sphere of dairy products is attributed to the fact that Belarusian dairy products sell well in Russia. “Our companies are slightly behind the technology of Belarusian companies for now. They are slightly behind in some other aspects, too, this is why it is a potentially interesting avenue of business cooperation,” noted Vladimir Kozyrev. Besides, Moscow Oblast industrial companies are ready to offer cooperation in mechanical engineering, in particular, production of machines and equipment for agriculture, civil engineering, special-purpose machines and tools. Sometimes establishing cooperation is as easy as reviving the connections, which existed in the USSR time, believes Vladimir Kozyrev.

During the forum the Vitebsk Oblast Union of Employers and the Moscow Oblast Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs signed a cooperation agreement. Speaking about the document, Vladimir Kozyrev explained that the two associations of employers intend to start sharing information and the best practices, enabling conditions for establishing partnerships between individual companies and interaction between industries. “It is the first time I've taken part in the investment forum in Vitebsk, this is why I hope to find local producers here, who can become potential partners for members of our association,” said Vladimir Kozyrev. Besides, he said he was ready to borrow interesting aspects of organization of the Vitebsk forum for the sake of using them to arrange Moscow Oblast Industrialists Day on 6 July. Members of the Vitebsk Oblast Union of Employers have been invited to participate in that event. The event is expected to gather heads of the largest industrial enterprises of the region, representatives of the banking sector, the expert and scientific communities, and investors, who implement projects in Moscow Oblast. “We have things to learn from each other. We can be mutually beneficial,” Vladimir Kozyrev was convinced.

Delegations from 14 countries took part in the seventh international economic forum in Vitebsk on 17 May. Presentations of the investment potential of every district of Vitebsk Oblast were arranged. The forum has been organized by the Vitebsk Oblast administration, the Vitebsk city administration, the Vitebsk Oblast Marketing Center, and the administration of the free economic zone Vitebsk.
