MINSK, 10 September (BelTA) - Belarus insists on keeping the supplies of Russian oil products at the current level, BelTA learned from Belarus' Deputy Prime Minister Igor Lyashenko on 10 September.
"Russia proposes to clarify the balance of oil products deliveries while no one questions the balance of oil supplies. This is a negotiation process. We insist on keeping the volume at the current level," Igor Lyashenko said.
The deputy prime minister emphasized that Belarus is against “any abrupt moves”. “We need stability,” Igor Lyashenko noted.
When asked about the upcoming Belarusian-Russian top-level talks, which are due on 21 September, he said that now the parties are working on the topics, clarifying the sums, exploring the issues before the meeting of the heads of state. "This week, I am going to meet with my counterpart. We will discuss the current situation, clarify the numbers in a constructive friendly atmosphere," Igor Lyashenko noted.
