VIENNA, 2 February (BelTA) – Nuclear energy is being introduced in Belarus in a very professional manner, BelTA learned from Per Lindell, an energy industry specialist and IAEA consultant.
“I am impressed by the nuclear program Belarus is carrying out. I have to say that you work very professionally to introduce nuclear energy,” said the expert while sharing his impressions after the presentations arranged by the Belarusian side during the IAEA technical meeting on topical issues in the development of nuclear power infrastructure in Vienna on 2 February.
He pointed out that Belarus studies not only Russian experience but also invites experts from the IAEA and other organizations. “It is very important for you to be able to stay updated on the latest knowledge in the industry. You also have to look at what is outside the country,” said the energy industry expert.
“If you use nuclear energy instead of burning natural gas, you will naturally reduce carbon dioxide emissions into the atmosphere,” said the expert. The need to reduce carbon dioxide emissions into the atmosphere is the main conclusion made by the countries that took part in the UN Climate Change Conference in Paris in December 2015.
