MINSK, 19 September (BelTA) – A Global Entrepreneurship Week will take place in Belarus on 13-19 November for the seventh time, BelTA learned from the event's coordinator Yevgeny Pugach on 19 September.
This year's Global Entrepreneurship Week in Belarus will focus on startups. Events timed to the Global Entrepreneurship Week will begin long before the week itself begins. Workshops on working with startups and developing innovations will be held in the oblast capitals for local self-employed businessmen. Belarusian and foreign speakers are expected to participate.
The Global Entrepreneurship Week will begin with the seventh international entrepreneurship forum focusing on Synergy. Startups and Corporations. New innovative business strategies, financial instruments for business support and so on will be discussed during the forum. The award Mentor of the Year will be bestowed upon the lucky winner.
Deputy Chairman of the Board of the Development Bank of the Republic of Belarus (DBRB) Ivan Varenitsa noted that the forum is a unique platform, which provides maximum coverage of the audience the Development Bank, government agencies, well-established businessmen, and startups are interested in. “We are pleased to participate in the forum and the entrepreneurship week. We welcome all the possible options, which will emerge as a result of discussions on this platform. The Development Bank is ready for partnerships now and in the future,” he stressed.
The Global Entrepreneurship Week will also include a children festival I am A Future Entrepreneur and the Investor's Day, which will be full of lectures and workshops for investors and business angels.
The Global Entrepreneurship Week is expected to gather guests from the USA, the UK, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Spain, Germany, Finland, Israel, and other countries.
The Global Entrepreneurship Week is held in over 160 countries across the globe and helps 20 million people implement their potential through participating in 95,000 events. Belarus joined the Global Entrepreneurship Week in 2011 and became the 137th participating state of the world's largest entrepreneurship initiative.
The Global Entrepreneurship Week in Belarus will proceed in association with the Economy Ministry. OAO Development Bank of the Republic of Belarus and the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) will act as partners.
