MINSK, 31 May (BelTA) - Belkommunmash plans to ship about 60 electric buses to Belgrade, Chairman of the Economy Committee of Minsk City Hall Nikolai Rogashchuk told a press conference, BelTA has learned.
One electric bus has already been delivered to the Serbian capital. After its tests a decision will be taken on a batch of Belarusian electric transport.
“Our major rivals are companies from China. Chinese electric buses are also trialed in Belgrade. The winner will be announced following a competition,” said the Chairman of the Economy Committee of Minsk City Hall. In his words, Belkommunmash electric buses have an advantage in the price, while their quality features will be demonstrated during the trial performance.
Belarusian electric buses will be showcased as part of the program of the Minsk Days in Belgrade, which are scheduled for 5-7 June. “The Belgrade public transport needs to be renewed. At present the entire trolleybus fleet of the Serbian capital (about 90 vehicles) is of the Belkommunmash manufacture. The supplies were conducted nearly 5 years ago,” Nikolai Rogashchuk noted.
Nikolai Rogashchuk informed that Belkommunmash has been taking an active part in tenders on the supply of its products (to St Petersburg, Odessa, other cities and regions). He named Ukraine a promising market for the export of Belarusian vehicles.
