Belarusian balers successful in Egypt

MOGILEV, 14 March (BelTA) – Roll balers PR-F-110 made by the Belarusian mechanical engineering company Bobruiskagromash have been successfully tested in Egypt, representatives of the company told BelTA.

The Belarusian balers had to deal with rice straw in the form of tape-like stalks up to 70cm in length with 10-15% moisture content. The fact that Belarusian MTZ tractors are widely used in Egypt helped a lot. The balers were attached to the tractors in order to test performance in idle mode.

Bobruiskagromash balers are designed to pick up and press into rolls all kinds of grass and straw. The rolls are taped over with string. The rolls can also be wrapped into plastic film. The balers are fitted with an automated control system, which allows remote oversight and control.

Performance of the balers was tested for over three hours. Peculiarities of the balers, the quality of work and capabilities were discussed after every roll. The Belarusian agricultural machines were praised for simple design, good work quality, and reliability. A decision in favor of continuing mutually beneficial cooperation was made upon proposal of Kader Factory for Developed Industries Company.

It was the second batch of agricultural machines Bobruiskagromash had sent for testing in field conditions. Bobruiskagromash square balers were shipped to Egypt in the past. Bobruiskagromash representatives said: “The Egyptian market is very promising for us. After the Belarusian head of state visited Egypt in January 2017, cooperation was invigorated across the board. We intend to expand our presence on this market and offer new kinds of machines to Egyptian farmers. We are considering the possibility of setting up an enterprise in Egypt to assemble Bobruiskagromash agricultural machines”.

An enterprise to make agricultural machines was established in Bobruisk, Mogilev Oblast in in 1974. It was incorporated into a public joint-stock company (OAO) in 2005. In 2012 the company became the managing company of the holding company Bobruiskagromash. Bobruiskagromash is one of the largest producers of agricultural machines in Belarus and the CIS states. The core of the product lineup is mounted and towed equipment for harvesting and distributing fodder. The company also makes machines to apply organic and mineral fertilizers, to harvest flax, and all kinds of tipping trailers for tractors.
