Belarus seen among China's key Belt and Road partners

WUHAN, 14 May (BelTA) – Belarus is one of China's most important partners in the Belt and Road project, Director of China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, Hubei sub-council Zhou Caijuan said at the international seminar Belt and Road. Getting to Know Hubei on 14 May, BelTA has learned.

The Belarusian-Chinese cooperation has been steadily developing, with the number of joint projects gradually increasing. The parties seek to tap into the potential for expanding economic ties, and this makes an important element in building long-term strategy.

Zhou Caijuan highlighted the long-standing cooperation and friendship between Hubei Province and Brest Oblast. The Belarusian delegation at the international event is led by Brest Oblast Vice Governor Andrei Klets and comprises representatives of the Chinese-Belarusian industrial park Great Stone, the Economy Ministry, the Brest office of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Brest sci-tech park and other agencies.

Taking part in the seminar are over 300 people, including from more than 100 big companies of Hubei Province.

The international seminar has been organized by the people's government of Hubei Province in cooperation with the national development and reform commission, the office of foreign affairs, the CCPIT Hubei, Wuhan State University, and Huahe International Business Consulting Co. Belarus' participation in the event was organized with the help of the Chinese embassy in Belarus and the Belarusian embassy in China.

The event is aimed at determining new areas of economic cooperation in the new Silk Road with the participation of Belarus, China, Russia and Kazakhstan.

Hubei Province is located in the center of China. The population is over 61 million. Hubei Province is rich in natural resources, including oil, and has a well-developed industrial base.
