Belarus interested in industrial cooperation with Turkey

ISTANBUL, 12 November (BelTA) – Belarus is interested in industrial cooperation with Turkish companies, Belarus' Prime Minister Andrei Kobyakov said as he met with Koc Holding's CEO Levent Cakiroglu on 12 November, BelTA has learned.

“We hope this interest will be mutual. We want to establish industrial cooperation with Turkish companies and set up joint plants to assemble products that Belarus has been manufacturing and exporting for dozens of years,” Andrei Kobyakov noted. In his words, these products include tractors, road-building equipment, quarry machinery, and buses. Production of refrigerating equipment is another promising cooperation field.

On 12 November, Andrei Kobyakov also met with Reha Akcakaya, Executive Vice President at Turkish Sisecam Group. The parties discussed prospects of cooperation in glass industry.

Koc Holding is Turkey's largest group of companies. It ranks among world's 400 biggest companies. In 2014, its turnover was $31 billion. The company's key areas of business include automotive industry, production of household appliances and food, retail, power engineering, and financial services.

Sisecam Group is a Turkish industrial group with affiliated companies in 12 countries. It focuses on production of glass and chemicals. Sisecam Group's annual output of glass reaches 3.8 million tonnes.
