Belarus' industrial output 7.8% up in H1 2018

MINSK, 16 July (BelTA) – In H1 2018 Belarus' industrial output totaled Br53 billion in current prices or 107.8% in comparable prices as against January-June 2017, BelTA learned from the National Statistics Committee of Belarus.

Belarus' mining industry reported a 3.7% increase in its output. The processing industry reported a 10.2% increase. The production of electricity, natural gas, steam, hot water, and conditioned air went up by 5.8%. The industrial output growth in water supply, waste collection, processing and recycling, pollution cleanup totaled 0.5%.

In June 2018 the industrial output index totaled 105.3% as against June 2017.

The volume of industrial output in all branches of the processing industry exceeded the figures registered in H1 2017. The highest growth was registered in the production of machines and equipment not classified elsewhere (19.2% up), manufacturing of wooden and paper products, printing, and copying of recorded media (14.8% up), vehicles and equipment (13.7% up), staple pharmaceutical products and pharmaceutical preparations (11.9% up), metallurgy industry, production of ready-made metal goods except for machines and equipment (8.6% up).
