On 22 March 1943, the Nazis entered the village of Khatyn and drove its inhabitants, old people, women and children, into a shed which was set on fire. That very day in March 1943 became the last one for 149 residents of Khatyn, including 75 children under 16. The smallest of them was only seven weeks old.
