Yauheni Karaliok clinches gold at UCI Track World Cup in Minsk

MINSK, 4 November (BelTA) – Belarus' Yauheni Karaliok won gold in the Men's Scratch Race at the UCI Track World Cup in Minsk, BelTA has learned.

The Belarusian clocked 16:55.485 to leave behind Spain's Sebastian Mora Vedri (second) and Eric Young of the United States (third).

This was the second medal for Belarus at the UCI Track World Cup in Minsk. Earlier, Tatsiana Sharakova claimed bronze in the Women's Points Race.

Minsk played host to the UCI Track World Cup on 31 October – 3 November. Taking part in the event were 57 teams from 44 countries who competed for rating points ahead of the 2020 Olympic Games. The program of competitions included Individual and Team Sprints, Individual and Team Pursuits, Keirin, Omnium, Madison, Scratch and Points Races.
