BEIJING, 8 February (BelTA) – Belarusian skier Yahor Shpuntau did not make it into the cross-country skiing sprint freestyle final stage at the 2022 Beijing Games, BelTA has learned.
The Belarusian placed 53rd in the qualifying event, over 17 seconds behind winner Lucas Chanavat of France. Thirty best athletes out of 88 qualified for the quarterfinal. Aliaksandr Voranau of Belarus was to take part in the race, but the athlete has tested positive for the coronavirus and is now in self-isolation.
