WTA rankings: Sabalenka, Azarenka keep their spots, Shymanovich up 39 positions

MINSK, 17 June (BelTA) – Aryna Sabalenka of Belarus remained third in the recently published WTA rankings, BelTA has learned.

Ahead of Berlin 2024 the Belarusian goes 3rd with a total of 7,788 points. Former world number one Victoria Azarenka of Belarus keeps her 19th position. Aliaksandra Sasnovich has one down from 98th to 117th. Iryna Shymanovich has soared 39 spots to 235th after reaching the Valencia 2024 semifinal.

WTA Top Ten:

1. Iga Swiatek (Poland) – 11,695 points;
2. Coco Gauff (USA) – 7,988; 
3. Aryna Sabalenka (Belarus) – 7,788;
4. Elena Rybakina (Kazakhstan) – 5,973;
5. Jessica Pegula (USA) – 4,625;
6. Marketa Vondrousova (Czechia) – 4,503; 
7. Jasmine Paolini (Italy) – 4,068; 
8. Qinwen Zheng (China) – 4,005;
9. Maria Sakkari (Greece) – 3,980; 
10. Ons Jabeur (Tunisia) – 3,748.

Jannik Sinner of Italy has topped the ATP rankings. Belarus’ Egor Gerasimov goes 265th.  The Belarusian is set to open this week’s Challenger Sassuolo against world number 333 Gerard Campala Lee of South Korea.
