MINSK, 17 February (BelTA) – The qualification competitions in women’s ski aerials at the XXV Winter Olympic Games in Italy have been delayed by three hours, BelTA has learned.
The qualification was scheduled to start at 12.45 p.m. Minsk time, but heavy snow forced several delays – first to 1.15 p.m., then to 1.30 p.m., and later to 2.00 p.m. The weather made it impossible to hold the competition in the morning, so organizers decided to postpone the start for 3.45 p.m.
Twenty-five freestyle skiers will take part in the qualifying tournament, including Belarusians Hanna Huskova, Anna Derugo, and Anastasiya Andryianava. The top six from the first qualification round will go straight to the final. Another six spots in the decisive run will be up for grabs in the second qualifying round. Twelve athletes will compete in the final on 18 February.
