MINSK, 1 July (BelTA) – Victoria Azarenka and Aryna Sabalenka of Belarus won their matches at Wimbledon 2021, BelTA has learned.
In her first-round match No.12 seed Victoria Azarenka defeated Kateryna Kozlova of Ukraine, 6-1, 6-3, in just over an hour. Victoria Azarenka will next face Sorana Cirstea of Romania.
No.2 seed Aryna Sabalenka outlasted British wildcard Katie Boutler, 4-6, 6-3, 6-3, to reach the third round.
Unfortunately, another Belarusian Olga Govortsova lost to Coco Vandeweghe of the USA 4-6, 2-6.
