Vytoki festival kicks off in Soligorsk

MINSK, 23 July (BelTA) – Soligorsk is hosting the cultural and sport festival "Vytoki. A Step Toward Olympus” on 22-24 July, BelTA learned from the press service of the National Olympic Committee of Belarus.

The festival in Soligorsk opened on 22 July with an excursion program around the city's historical landmarks. The roundtable on ways to promote the historical and cultural heritage took place in the spiritual and educational center of the parish of the Church of the Intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary in the village of Chizhevichi. The participants looked into ways to preserve the national traditions and cultural values such as tourist attractions and also ways to educate young people in sync with the national culture.

The Wheel of Time exhibition featuring Belarusian artists and an exhibition of children's drawings opened in the lobby of the Belaruskali company. The awards ceremony for the best drawings will take place on 24 July.

The first day of the festival wrapped up with the lecture and presentation “Contemporary Belarusian Fine Art” and an organ music concert by Valery Shmat “My Step Toward Olympus” in the public garden near the Belaruskali company.

The second day of the festival, 23 July, will feature seminars to promote creative and innovative projects (11:00, Center for the Creativity of Children and Youth of Soligorsk District, 57 Lenina Street) and a cultural and economic program “Capital Place” (14:30, Passat NGO, Soligorsk District, 65 Metyavichskoye Shosse Street). Its participants will discuss the development and promotion of national and regional brands.

The central event of the festival “Vytoki. A Step Toward Olympus” on 24 July will take place in the central square of Soligorsk. Visitors will be able to take part in competitions and sport contests, test their abilities in various sports and win valuable prizes. The participants will be invited to a food court, a family recreation area, and the trade fair “Belarusian brands”.

The 2021 edition of the Vytoki cultural and sport festival will wrap up with a large-scale celebration in Minsk in late August.

Vytoki is a Belarusian brand that promotes Belarusian national culture, history, traditions, and sport achievements of the country and its regions. The main objectives of the project are to create a common social and educational space, bring together people of different interests and ages, promote regional and national brands, and celebrate achievements in sports, science and art.

The organizers of the Vytoki festival are the National Olympic Committee of Belarus, the Federation of Trade Unions of Belarus, the Arthaos and BelBrandAudit companies.
