MINSK, 17 June (BelTA) - Vladimir Vashchenko has been elected Chairman of the Belarusian Volleyball Federation at a general meeting on 17 June, BelTA has learned.
The meeting participants unanimously supported the candidacy of Vladimir Vashchenko. The new head had previously headed the Emergencies Ministry and the supervisory board of the public association.
Boris Batura led the Belarusian Volleyball Federation from 1999 to autumn 2014. He was succeeded by Valentin Shayev. In May 2017 the federation was headed by former International Volleyball Federation referee Alexander Pyasetsky. Eduard Vensky took over in November 2018 and left the post in 2020.
Ahead of the general meeting, the Belarusian Volleyball Federation hosted a meeting of its Supervisory Board, during which Emergencies Minister Vadim Sinyavsky was elected its chairman.
