Viyaleta Bardzilouskaya’s parents share their emotions on daughter’s Olympic silver

MOGILEV, 2 August (BelTA) - Viyaleta Bardzilouskaya’s parents Aleksandr and Galina shared with BelTA their emotions on their daughter winning a trampoline silver at the Olympic Games in Paris.

"What emotions can the parents have? We have not been sleeping, eating. We've lost some weight. This morning, I went to church in Podnikolie and prayed for my daughter," said Galina. “Now we have already calmed down.”
Galina did not have a chance to watch Viyaleta’s performance live as she was at work. Viyaleta’s father and aunt from Krasnodar were watching the performance. They shared with Galina everything that was happening. "My sister sent me all the videos. The awards ceremony too. We are all very proud of our Viyaleta," the athlete's mother said.
Viyaleta’s brother is a master of sports in trampolining, but he had to retire from sport for health reasons. Today he cheered for his sister. "We all feel great joy and pride," Galina noted.

The woman said that as soon as Viyaleta won an Olympic license, everyone knew that she would have to work very hard. "I think I stopped sleeping from that moment, because I understood that the preparation would be titanic," she noted.” When I asked Viyaleta if she was satisfied that she was able to qualify for the Olympics, she answered: "Yes." Then I asked her if she realized the hard road ahead. My daughter answered me simply: "Mom, it's worth it." And it was really worth it.

The father was also worried about his daughter. "Two weeks ago I had a dream that Viyaleta would be second. I didn't tell anyone, I wrote it on a piece of paper, put it in an envelope and hid it," Aleksandr shared his amazing story. “It came true.” The parents are waiting for their daughter. "We'll go to Minsk to welcome her right in the airport," the man said. “I'm very proud of her. She did it!”

The man said that Viyaleta was worried about the fact that she was going to the Olympics in a neutral status. But despite the difficult psychological situation, she was able to pull herself together and win an important Olympic silver medal for herself and for the country. "We are grateful to her first coach Yuri Morozov, her current coach Olga Vlasova," the man summarized.
Tonight the Bardzilouski family will continue to follow the performances of Belarusian athletes and will be cheering for Ivan Litvinovich.
