MINSK, 20 August (BelTA) – The Team BY mascot will take part in the Olympic Day celebrations at the Olympic Sports Complex in Minsk on 24 August, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian National Olympic Committee.
“In December 2018 we presented the brand Team BY and started the development of a mascot. A baby stork was chosen as a mascot. Today we are announcing a contest for a name for the symbol of the Olympic team,” acting head of the marketing department of the Belarusian National Olympic Committee Vitaly Ostrovsky said.
Entries need to suggest one or two names, write a legend about the origin of the mascot (the legend should be no longer than 400 words), and submit their works together with contact information to marketing@noc.by.
The best variants will be posted online for voting. Authors of the best works will get prizes from the Belarusian National Olympic Committee. The contest will stay open through 20 September.
Viber will soon release a sticker pack about the Team BY mascot. The mascot will also be made available as augmented reality with the help of SportAR app which can be downloaded in Play Market and App Store.
