TOKYO, 26 July (BelTA) – Anastasia Shkurdai of Belarus clocked 57.05 seconds to finish eighth in the women's 100m butterfly final at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, BelTA has learned.
Margaret MacNeil of Canada won the event in 55.59 seconds. Zhang Yufei from China was second (55.64). Bronze went to Australia's Emma McKeon (55.72).
The Tokyo Olympics were initially to take place on 24 July-9 August 2020. Due to the pandemic the competitions were moved to 2021 and kicked off on 23 July. Belarus in Tokyo is represented by 108 athletes in 20 sports.
