MINSK, 16 February (BelTA) – Belarusian tennis player Aliaksandra Sasnovich has completed her performance at the WTA 1000 tournament in Dubai with a prize fund of $4 million, BelTA has learned.
In the round of 64 on 16 February, the Belarusian world No. 113 lost to Romania’s world No. 32 Sorana Cîrstea with a score of 3-6, 6-7 (6-8). The match lasted 1 hour and 50 minutes. In the second round, Cîrstea will compete against Czech tennis player Linda Nosková (world No. 14).
Aliaksandra Sasnovich advanced to the main draw of the tournament through qualifying, defeating Britain’s Sonay Kartal 6-4, 6-3 and Croatia’s Petra Marčinko 6-4, 6-4.
The tournament in Dubai will conclude on 21 February.
