Sabalenka remains 2nd in WTA rankings

MINSK, 25 October (BelTA) - Aryna Sabalenka of Belarus remained second in the renewed WTA rankings, BelTA has learned.

Last week the Belarusian number one won just one match at the Kremlin Cup and lost 365 points. She currently goes with 6,750 points. The 2021 Kremlin Cup winner Anett Kontaveit of Estonia moved from 20th up to 14th spot in the WTA. Belarus' Victoria Azarenka went one spot down to 27th with 2,201 points, Aliaksandra Sasnovich is 86th with 850 points, and Olga Govortsova goes 134th with 567 points.

2. Aryna Sabalenka (Belarus) – 6,750

3. Karolina Pliskova (Czech Republic) – 5,320

Belarus' Ilya Ivashka goes 46th with 1,253 points in the ATP rankings, Egor Gerasimov is 105th with 744 points. Both the Belarusian tennis players are playing at the ATP 250 tournament in St. Petersburg, Russia this week. On 25 October, Egor Gerasimov will face Moldova's world number 123 Radu Albot in the decisive qualifying match. On 26 October, Ilya Ivashka will take on Serbia's world number Laslo Dere in the round of Last 32.
