MINSK, 8 April (BelTA) – Belarus' world number 5 Aryna Sabalenka failed to reach the Charleston Open quarterfinal losing to world number 47 Amanda Anisimova of the United States, 6-3, 4-6, 3-6 in the round of Last 16, BelTA has learned.
The match lasted for an hour and 45 minutes. In the opener Aryna Sabalenka defeated world number 43 Alison Riske of the United States, 7-6 (7-3), 6-4.
Belarus' world number 51 Aliaksandra Sasnovich was upset by Ukraine's world number 42 Angelina Kalinina, 4-6, 4-6, in the round of Last 64.
Aryna Sabalenka teamed up with Ons Jabeur of Tunisia lost to Jessica Pegula of the United States and Alexa Guarachi of Chile 4-6, 3-6 in the doubles round of Last 16.
The tournament in Charleston will be over on 10 April.
