MINSK, 12 May (BelTA) - Belarusian Aryna Sabalenka (world's No.4) was off to a good start at the Italian Open, BelTA has learned.
In the first match after her recent victory at Madrid, Belarus' top player defeated Spain's Sara Sorribes Tormo (No.51) in two sets 7-5, 6-1. The Spaniard put up a fight in the first set which lasted almost an hour. In the second set the Belarusian was more confident and gave away only one game. The match lasted 1 hour and 35 minutes. Aryna Sabalenka will face U.S. Coco Gauff (No.35) in the next round.
