
MINSK, 26 March (BelTA) – World No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka of Belarus booked a spot in her first career Miami Open semifinal with a 6-2, 7-5 victory over China’s World No. 9 Zheng Qinwen, BelTA has learned.
The Belarusian triumphed in 1 hour and 36 minutes to set a semifinal showdown against Italy’s World No.7 Jasmine Paolini.
At the ongoing tournament Aryna Sabalenka defeated Bulgaria’s world number 64 Viktoriya Tomova and World No.102 Elena-Gabriela Ruse of Romania, and reigning champion Danielle Collins of the United States (World No.15).
The total prize money in the 2025 Miami Open, which is to be over on 30 March, is $8.9 million. The winner will earn $1.2 million and 1,000 points.
