MINSK, 4 January (BelTA) – Belarus’ world number 2 Aryna Sabalenka has reached the Brisbane International quarterfinals defeating world number 33 Zhu Lin of China, 6-1, 6-0, in an hour and nine minutes, BelTA has learned.
The Belarusian will next face Russia’s world number 18 Daria Kasatkina. Aryna Sabalenka beat Italy's world number 52 Lucia Bronzetti, 6-3, 6-0, in the second round of the Brisbane International.
Belarus’ world number 23 Victoria Azarenka also made it into the quarterfinals at the Brisbane International thanks to a 7-5, 6-2 win over France's world number 56 Clara Burel. Victoria Azarenka will next play Latvia’s world number 21 Jelena Ostapenko. In the second round Victoria Azarenka defeated world number 80 Anna Kalinskaya of Russia, 6-1, 7-6 (10-8).
The Brisbane event will be over on 7 January.
