
MINSK, 20 February (BelTA) - Belarusian Anastasiya Prokopenko has become a member of the Commission for Culture and Education of the International Modern Pentathlon Union (UIPM), BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Modern Pentathlon Federation.
The letter on the inclusion of the titled Belarusian athlete in the UIPM Commission for Culture and Education was sent to the Belarusian Federation of Modern Pentathlon.
“We write to congratulate you wholeheartedly on your appointment as a Member of the UIPM Commission for Culture and Education for the next four years covering the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic cycle. The Paris 2024 cycle culminated in an Olympic Games that was a great triumph for Modern Pentathlon. Now we embark on a new era looking towards LA28 with a revitalised sport and a more inclusive global community, and we hope you will find it rewarding to play an active part in the development of our sport at this exciting time,” the letter reads.
Anastasiya Prokopenko retired from sport last year. A Slutsk native, Anastasiya Prokopenkois a bronze medalist of the 2008 Beijing Olympics, a five-time world champion and three-time European champion.
