NOC president congratulates Team Belarus on success at Russian Biathlon Championship

MINSK, 4 April (BelTA) – President of the National Olympic Committee (NOC) of Belarus Viktor Lukashenko has congratulated the Belarusian national team on winning two medals at the Russian Biathlon Championship in Tyumen, BelTA learned from the press service of the NOC.

“Dear athletes, coaches, representatives of the service team, administrative and medical groups! I sincerely congratulate you on winning gold and silver medals at the Russian Biathlon Championship in Tyumen. You also showed your high level at the previous RBU Cup in Ufa, proving that you are one of the leading teams in the world biathlon, in which there are both experienced and talented young athletes. In the face of unprecedented and unfair sanctions, the Belarusian biathletes demonstrated strength of spirit, will to win, and true professionalism,” the message of greetings reads.

The 2021/2022 Winter Olympic season was rich in events and results. “The team leaders regularly graced the podium in international competitions. Anton Smolsky's silver medal at the Beijing Games will go down in the history of the Belarusian biathlon as a confirmation of the country's great achievements in this sport,” said Viktor Lukashenko.

The NOC president is confident that coherent work of the federation, coaching staff and athletes will help the national team achieve more impressive results in the future. “I sincerely wish you good health, wellbeing and great victories for the benefit of the Belarusian sport,” Viktor Lukashenko said.
