MINSK, 3 May (BelTA) - President of the Belarusian National Olympic Committee Viktor Lukashenko congratulated Aryna Sabalenka on her victory at the prestigious WTA-1000 tournament in Madrid, BelTA learned from the NOC press service.
“Strong character, determination and diligence allowed you to pull yourself together at the right moment and win this long-awaited victory, despite the enormous pressure,” Viktor Lukashenko said. He wished the athlete good health and brilliant achievements, which will only enhance her status of the world’s best tennis player and bring joy to millions of fans in her homeland of Belarus.
Belarusian Aryna Sabalenka overcame No. 4 Coco Gauff in straight sets to win her third Madrid Open and 20th career title on 3 May.
