
MINSK, 22 May (BelTA) – Minsk will host the One Run international half marathon for the third time, BelTA learned.
According to the press service of the Minsk City Executive Committee, the race will be held in 16 countries in 2025. "Minsk is looking forward to the annual One Run half marathon, which will be held on 24 May. This large-scale sports festival attracts participants from all over the world and is one of the biggest events in the world of sports," the press service said.
Since 2017, more and more Russian cities and thousands of new participants have joined the half marathon, which earned the event an entry in the Guinness Book of Records on two occasions, said Ksenia Shoigu, head of the organizing committee of the One Run half marathon. "For me, One Run is one of the most significant events of the year. In 2023, the race spilled beyond the borders of our country, and in 2024 15 countries ran with Russia on the same day. I am sure that this is just the beginning and that the scale and geography will only expand," Ksenia Shoigu said.
In Minsk, the run will have the following options: 21.1km, 10km, 5km and 1km, for all age categories. The competition will start at 10.00 with a children's race. The routes will run along Pobediteley Avenue past the iconic landmarks. The start and finish lines and the fan zone of the race will be located near Olympia Gym&Spa on 2 Ratomskaya Street. The route will go along Minsk Arena, Rhythmic Gymnastics Center, Lebyazhy residential complex, Lebyazhy nature reserve.
Registration of participants is open on the official website onerun.by. It will close on 24l May. Participants can choose one of four distances, each registered runner will receive a start package, which includes a number with a chip for timekeeping, a T-shirt with the event logo, a medal at the finish line and gifts from sponsors.
On the same day, more than 160,000 people will start the One Run half marathon in all regions of Russia where the event will be held for the 9th time under the name ZaBeg.RF. This year Russia will be joined by other countries, including China, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Belarus, Brazil, Qatar, Cameroon, Serbia, Uzbekistan, Nepal, Egypt, Armenia, Pakistan, Bahrain, and UAE.
