MINSK, 26 November (BelTA) – Minsk will host the International Dance Sport Tournament Style Cup 2014 from 29 to 30 November, BelTA learned from the Belarus Dance Sport Alliance.
The contest will be held at the multipurpose sports hall of Chizhovka Arena. It is an open international tournament with the World Open title from the WDSF (World Dance Sport Federation). The audience will see amazing performances by around a thousand dance couples from different countries such as Belarus, Azerbaijan, Greece, Israel, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Moldova, Poland, Russia, Romania, Slovakia, Turkey, Ukraine, Finland, the Czech Republic, and Estonia.
The first day of the tournament will feature the program of Latin American dances (samba, cha-cha-cha, rumba, paso doble, and jive). The program of the second day includes European dances (standard): slow waltz, tango, Viennese waltz, quickstep, and slow foxtrot.
The morning competitions will feature elimination and qualification rounds in all age groups. The day tournaments will include competitions of the world rating WDSF Youth Open Latin&Standard. The tournaments for juniors will start at 16.00 with the open category Juniors 1 (12-13-year-olds) and Juniors 2 (14-15-year-olds). The program will continue with the tournament of the world rating WDSF World Open Latin&Standard.
The performances of the contestants will be evaluated not only by the qualified jury comprising representatives from 13 countries, but also by the audience who will decide which couple will get the Audience Choice Award.
Partaking in the tournament will be the best dance couples from Belarus and other countries. The host country will be represented by sportsmen from Borisov, Brest, Gomel, Grodno, Minsk, Mogilev, Smorgon and other cities. The Belarusian team includes famous couples, the winners of the 2014 Belarus Championship. In the category Adults the ten dances will be performed by Andrei Kitsun and Natalia Korsak, and also Ilya Rykun and Valeria Lobach. Both duets are in the top 50 best dance couples of the world ranking. Besides, the audience will see performances by the couples Alexander Samosyuk/Yana Tudvaseva (the 7th place at the 2014 World Championship in the category Youth under 21, the European program), Ilya Yudovin/Alisa Gorchakova (the 4th place in the category Juniors 2, the Latin American program), Nikita Zhukovsky/Linda Revko (semifinalists of the World Championship in the category Juniors 2, the European program and the program of ten dances), and many others.
