MINSK, 16 June (BelTA) – Belarus' Lidziya Marozava and Kaitlyn Christian of the United States lost in the Grass Court Championships Berlin quarterfinal to Canada's Gabriela Dabrowski and Giuliana Olmos of Mexico, 4-6, 2-6, BelTA has learned.
In the opener the Belarusian-U.S. tandem defeated Spain's Garbine Muguruza and Tunisia's Ons Jabeur, 6-4, 3-6, 13-11.
In the women's singles Belarus' world number 38 Aliaksandra Sasnovich saw off Russia's world number 147 Anastasia Gasanova, 6-2, 4-6, 6-3, and solved Germany's world number 59 Andrea Petkovic, 6-4, 6-4, in round two. In the quarterfinal Aliaksandra Sasnovich will face world number 4 Ons Jabeur of Tunisia. Belarus' world number 5 Aryna Sabalenka lost in the opening round to Russia's world number 24 Veronika Kudermetova, 6-2, 5-7, 4-6.
The grass court tournament in Germany will be over on 19 June.
