KHL: Dinamo Minsk defeat Riga namesakes 4-1

MINSK, 21 December (BelTA) – HC Dinamo Minsk secured a second win in a row in the 2021/22 KHL regular season on 20 December, BelTA has learned.

The Bisons took a solid win, 4-1, over HC Dinamo Riga in the opening match of their four-game trip.

Dinamo Riga's attacking attempts brought nothing against short staffed Minsk squad that showed their true fighting spirit. Minsk started their offensive run in the opening frame that lead to the first goal - Vladislav Yeryomenko put his team on the scoreboard capitalizing on a two-man advantage. Minsk kept on going, and Kirill Voronin scored to make 2-0 before the first break.

At the end of the second period Roman Gorbunov entered the zone on a counter-attack and with a precise shot made it 3:0 for his team. The third period began with a power-play goal for Minsk with Denis Mosalyov taking the opportunity to capitalize on power-play. With two minutes left to play Rudolf Cerveny cashed in to round out the game, with 1-4 final score.

After 40 games Dinamo Minsk goes 8th in the Western Conference with 45 points. The Bisons will next play Jokerit Helsinki on 22 December. Dinamo Minsk will also face Kunlun Red Star on 24 December and CSKA Moscow on 27 December.
