MINSK, 24 September (BelTA) – Outstanding Belarusian hammer thrower Ivan Tsikhan has been elected Chairman of the Belarusian Athletics Federation, BelTA has learned.
The decision was taken at an extraordinary conference of the Belarusian Athletics Federation which took place at the Dinamo National Olympic Stadium in Minsk.
Delegates at the conference supported by the majority the candidature of the native of Slonim District, two-time medalist of the Olympic Games.
Earlier, the post was held by renowned athlete Vadim Devyatovsky who, in turn, replaced Grigory Kosyachenko. Vadim Devyatovsky decided to leave the post ahead of time due to health issues.
