MINSK, 12 January (BelTA) – The IBU Open European Championships Biathlon 2021 will be held as scheduled, BelTA learned from the IBU website.
The decision was taken following the final inspection visits to the Polish city of Duszniki Zdroj which is due to host the event on 27-31 January. Athletes will compete in the individual, sprint and pursuit races, and also in the single and 4x6 mixed relays.
The Raubichi Winter Sports Center played host to the event in 2019 and 2020. Belarus also hosted the editions of 1998 and 2004. In 2020 Belarusian biathletes topped the medal table with three gold and one bronze medals. Russia came second (2-2-0), with Norway placing third (1-2-3).
