MINSK, 18 September (BelTA) - The UEFA Europa League playoff draw took place in Nyon, Switzerland on 18 September, BelTA has learned.
Belarus' champion FC Dinamo Brest will face PFC Ludogorets Razgrad on 1 October for a spot in the UEFA Europa League group stage.
This season Dinamo Brest made their debut in the UEFA Champions League. They took down FC Astana 6-3 in the first qualifying round and edged Sarajevo 2-1 in the second qualifying round. In the third qualifying round Dinamo Brest lost 0-1 to Maccabi Tel Aviv F.C.
Looking to reach the UEFA Champions League group stage Maccabi Tel Aviv F.C. will play FC Salzburg twice. Russian FC Krasnodar, captained by Belarusian center-back Alyaksandr Martynovich, will face PAOK FC.
Other Champions League playoff meetings are: Slavia Praha vs Midtjylland, Gent vs Dynamo Kyiv, Molde vs Ferencvaros, Olympiacos vs Omonoia. The first matches will be played on 22-23 September, return legs – on 29-30 September.
The line-up for the 2020/21 UEFA Champions League group stage is currently featuring 26 teams who has qualified via their domestic league standings. These include England's Liverpool, Manchester City, Chelsea, and Manchester United; Spain's Real Madrid, Barcelona, Atlético Madrid, and Sevilla; Italy's Juventus, Inter, Atalanta, Lazio, Germany's Bayern, Dortmund, RB Leipzig, Monchengladbach; France's Paris Saint-Germain, Marseille, and Rennes; Russia's Zenit, and Lokomotiv Moskva; the Netherlands' Ajax; Belgium's Club Brugge; Ukraine's Shakhtar Donetsk; Portugal's Porto; and Turkey's Istanbul Basaksehir. The draw will be held on 1 October.
