MINSK, 16 January (BelTA) - Minsk played host to Group B matches of the European women's Basketball League (EWBL), BelTA has learned.
The leader of preliminary group B HC Horizont Minsk secured a 70-62 win over Kibirkstis-MRU Vilnius.
BC Olimpia Grodno suffered its fifth defeat on 15 January, losing to TTT Riga 41-79. This was the third victory of the Riga team at the Minsk leg.
On 14 January the Belarusian champion BC Tsmoki Minsk lost to TTT Riga 61-82, Kibirkstis-MRU Vilnius routed BC Olimpia 61-45, BC Horizont beat BC Nika Syktyvkar 81-78.
Group B standings: Horizont – 9 points (5 matches), Tsmoki Minsk – 6 (5), TTT – 6 (3), Kibirkstis – 5 (3), and Olimpia – 5 (5).
Group A standings: Piestanske Cajky Slovakia – 4 points (2 matches), Young Angels Kosice Slovakia – 3 (2), SBS Ostrava Czech Republic – 2 (2), Liepaja LSSS Latvia – 0 (0), Prometey Ukraine – 0 (0), Orange Lions Amsterdam – 0 (0).
