MINSK, 4 January (BelTA) - HC Dinamo Minsk defenseman Stepan Falkovsky has been named the KHL Player of December, BelTA learned from the official website of the Kontinental Hockey League.
The Bisons' defenseman scored 6 (3+3) points and finished the month with a plus-6 rating. Falkovsky had eight shots on goal, recorded eleven hits, and blocked eight shots.
Among the best players of the month were also Ak Bars Kazan forward Stephane Da Costa and and Dynamo Moscow goaltender Alexander Yeremenko.
Alexander Yeryomenko helped his team win six of six games in December, including two shutouts. Yeryomenko faced 184 shots on goal, or 30.7 per game, saving 96.7%. The Dynamo Moscow goalie had a goals-against average of 0.99.
Stephane Da Costa scored 16 (8+8) points in nine games. The Kazan forward scored doubles against Jokerit (4-1) and Dynamo Moscow (7-2).
Best rookie was forward Ivan Chekhovich (HC Torpedo Nizhny Novgorod), who scored 10 (6+4) points in 11 games, with a plus-7 rating.
