Dinamo Minsk’s Demchenko, Ouellet among KHL best players of the week

MINSK, 24 February (BelTA) - The Kontinental Hockey League named the best players of the 2024-2025 Regular Season’s twenty-fourth week in four categories, BelTA learned from the KHL press service.

Dinamo Minsk’s Vasily Demchenko was named best goalie for the fifth time in his career for winning four games out of four last week. The Minsk goalie faced 95 shots, or 23.8 per game, with a save percentage of 96.84% and a goals-against average of 0.75. In Friday’s win over Dynamo Moscow (5:0) and Sunday’s win over Severstal (3:0), Demchenko recorded his fifth and sixth shutout of the season, respectively.

Dinamo Minsk’s Xavier Ouellet was recognized best defenseman (for the first time in his career). He scored 3 (0+3) points in four games last week. The Bison’s defenseman ended the week with a +4 rating. Ouellet blocked seven shots, recorded seven hits, made one pass interception, and had four takeaways.

Dinamo Minsk is currently sixth in the KHL Western Conference table. The Minsk club is preparing for a five-game home series during which it will take on Spartak (27 February), SKA (2 March), Lada (5 March) and twice against Kunlun (3 and 9 March).
