MINSK, 4 August (BelTA) – HC Dinamo Minsk secured their first win at the preseason tournament Sochi Hockey Open, BelTA has learned.
In the second-round match Craig Woodcroft's men faced the Russian U25 national team. In the opening period Russians scored thrice, the Bisons responded with goals from Igor Martynov and Roman Gorbunov. Midway through the second period Pavel Varfolomeyev leveled it off, 3-3. Ten minutes later Vladimir Alistrov took Dinamo in the lead and Varfolomeyev scored his second early in the closing stanza making the final score 5-3.
After two games Dinamo Minsk hold two points. Earlier the Bisons lost to SKA 1-4. The Minsk team will next play Avangard Omsk on 6 August.
